Talking concerning the chaotic state of affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Railway, KPS Malhotra, stated that there was a stampede-like state of affairs at platform no. 14 and close to the escalator close to platform no. 1 as two trains have been late and plenty of passengers have been left stranded on the railway station.

Reacting to the chaos on the railway station, the Ministry of Railways stated that the Railway Police and Delhi Police have reached the station and the state of affairs is beneath management. The ministry additional acknowledged that the injured have been taken to hospital.
