New Delhi: 5G smartphone shipments accounted for 87 per cent of the general India market within the April-June quarter, marking a 20 per cent yearly enhance, a report confirmed on Wednesday. Notably, 5G smartphones priced between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 recorded over 600 per cent year-on-year development, reflecting surging demand for reasonably priced 5G entry, in accordance with the report by CyberMedia Analysis (CMR) India.

India’s smartphone market grew 8 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in Q2 2025. The expansion was fuelled by rising adoption of reasonably priced 5G smartphones, sturdy channel push, and a wave of strategic new launches throughout key worth bands. “The Rs 10,000-Rs 13,000 5G smartphone section witnessed over 138 per cent YoY development in Q2 2025. “The second half of the 12 months shall be pivotal, pushed by new smartphone launches timed with the festive season. Upcoming flagship smartphone launches are anticipated to drive heightened shopper curiosity and speed up machine improve cycles,” mentioned Pankaj Jadli, analyst, Business Intelligence Group at CMR.
