9 Killed, 11 Injured In Street Accident In Punjab | India Information

Chandigarh: At the very least 9 individuals have been killed and 11 injured in a collision between a pick-up van and canter truck whereas transporting employees of a catering service supplier in Punjab’s Ferozepur district on Friday, police mentioned.  

The police mentioned the pickup van was ferrying employees from Guru Har Sahai, a subdivision in Ferozepur district, to Jalalabad in neighbouring Fazilka district when the accident occurred. 

Prima facie the reason for the accident was a tyre burst of the canter. 

In accordance with the police, about 25 to 30 individuals, primarily waiters, have been within the pickup truck. They have been travelling from Guru Har Sahai to Jalalabad to attend a programme when the accident occurred close to Golu Ka Mod throughout the Guru Har Sahai Meeting constituency space. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Satnam Singh mentioned because the accident was reported, groups from the Sadak Suraksha Drive (SSF) reached the spot and began the rescue operation. 

The injured have been despatched to the closest hospitals in Guruharsahai, Jalalabad and some of the critically injured have been referred to the Guru Gobind Singh Medical Faculty in Faridkot. 

“9 individuals have died. The Canter driver is among the many injured,” mentioned Senior Superintendent of Police Saumya Mishra, who rushed to the accident spot. 

“Ten of the injured have been referred to the Guru Gobind Singh Medical Faculty and Hospital, Faridkot, and one was admitted at Jalalabad Civil Hospital,” mentioned Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma. 

She mentioned that the district administration would bear the price of remedy of all injured. Six of the severely injured have been taken to Faridkot hospital whereas others have been rushed to Jalalabad Hospital. 

The our bodies have been stored in a mortuary on the Civil Hospital of Jalalabad. 

Locals reached the accident spot and began the rescue operation forward of the native administration reached there.
