Civil aviation ministry grants in-principle approval for Perandur airport
The civil aviation ministry has given in-principle approval for the proposed airport in Perandur in Tamil Nadu.

It will likely be the second airport in Chennai.
In a submit on X, Civil Aviation Minister Ok Rammohan Naidu on Wednesday stated the Perandur airport represents a major step in direction of enhancing regional connectivity and that the “NDA Govt is dedicated in additional bolstering Tamil Nadu’s aviation infrastructure”.
The ministry has granted in-principle approval for the brand new Perandur airport.
“Underneath the visionary management of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, rising passenger demand is being addressed by strengthening airport capability throughout the nation, particularly in mega cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai by way of the event of second airports,” he stated.
