Will Exterior Affairs Minister take up difficulty of visa revocation of Indian college students along with his U.S. counterpart, asks Congress

Expressing concern over the American Immigration Legal professionals Affiliation’s (AILA) declare that out of the 327 visa revocation instances of worldwide college students collected by it to date, 50% are Indians, the Congress on Friday (April 18, 2025) requested whether or not Exterior Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will take up the problem along with his U.S. counterpart Marco Rubio.
Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh shared a press release issued by AILA on his X deal with. “Out of the 327 visa revocation instances of worldwide college students collected by the organisation to date, 50% are Indians. The assertion issued by AILA on Thursday said: “The Division of State (DOS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are aggressively concentrating on worldwide college students, together with these and not using a historical past of protest, for visa revocation, termination of their standing, and elimination.”

AILA collected 327 stories of visa revocations and Scholar and Change Customer Info System (SEVIS) terminations from attorneys, college students, and college workers, the assertion stated. “Of those stories — 50% of those college students have been from India, adopted by 14% from China.
