The ruling BJP in Rajasthan on Sunday expelled its former MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja, who was lately on the centre of temple “purification” controversy, from major membership of the get together.

The motion has been taken towards Ahuja following a probe by BJP’s disciplinary committee, a celebration order mentioned.

BJP state president Madan Rathore has given orders to terminate Ahuja’s major membership of the get together for “indiscipline”, it mentioned.

Ahuja had sparked an argument earlier this month after he sprinkled Ganga water at a Ram temple in Alwar to “purify” it following Congress chief Tikaram Jully attended a consecration ceremony there. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot had termed Ahuja’s act an “insult” to a Dalit.

Earlier on Sunday, Ahuja appeared earlier than the BJP’s disciplinary committee to current his aspect.

Later, speaking to reporters, he mentioned, “I’ve not performed something anti-Dalit.” He claimed that the BJP has made a mistake by expelling him by falling prey to the propaganda of the Congress.

He accused senior Congress leaders, together with its president Mallikarjun Kharge, of defamation and mentioned that he’ll file a case concerning this.

After the temple “purification” act, Ahuja had mentioned that Congress leaders have “no ethical authority” to attend such ceremonies because the get together’s management had questioned the existence of Lord Ram and “boycotted” the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya final 12 months.

He claimed that there was no “Dalit” angle to his act.

The consecration ceremony on the Ram temple in a residential society of Alwar was held about 20 days in the past on the event of Ram Navami and Chief of Opposition in Rajasthan Meeting Tikaram Jully was in attendance.

Ahuja mentioned that he took the step due to Congress leaders’ view and method in the direction of lord Ram and never due to Jully being a Dalit.

Jully had earlier mentioned that it (Ahuja’s act) was indicative of BJP’s mentality in the direction of Dalits.

Gehlot had mentioned that the incident displays the BJP’s “slender mindedness” in the direction of Dalits.
