ISRO ties up with European Area Company for Gaganyaan missions

Indian Area Analysis Organisation (ISRO) and European Area Company (ESA) signed a Technical Implementing Plan (TIP) doc for Floor Monitoring Assist for India’s Gaganyaan missions. 

The TIP allows the ESA to supply floor station help for Gaganyaan missions, which can guarantee continuity in information stream and communication with the Orbital Module for monitoring and orbital operations.

ISRO stated that it has a long-standing system of co-operation with the ESA. They’ve been collaboratively supporting one another in profitable accomplishment of a number of area missions prior to now and are dedicated to collaboration actions sooner or later. The signing of the TIP is one other step ahead within the co-operation between ISRO and ESA.

The TIP was signed by Dr Anil Kumar A. Okay., Director, ISTRAC, on behalf of ISRO, and by Dietmar Pilz, Director of Expertise, Engineering and High quality and Director of ESTEC, Netherlands, from ESA, at Satish Dhawan Area Centre (SDSC) on December 4.

The Gaganyaan challenge envisages demonstration of human spaceflight functionality by launching a crew of three members to an orbit of 400 km for a three-day mission and bringing them again safely to Earth by touchdown in Indian sea waters.
