The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) has launched a brand new system that robotically converts monetary cybercrime complaints with a fraud worth above ₹10 lakh, and registered on the 1930 helpline or cybercrime.gov.in portal, into First Data Stories (FIRs). The e-Zero FIR initiative has been launched on a pilot foundation first in Delhi, Union Residence Minister Amit Shah mentioned on Monday (Could 19, 2025).

The method is line with the provisions of Sections 173 (1) and 1(ii) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The e-Crime Police Station of Delhi has been notified for the registration of e-FIRs, adopted by their switch to the jurisdictional police stations for cybercrime complaints of a specified nature reported on the NCRP.

This initiative will enhance the conversion of complaints lodged on the NCRP and the 1930 helpline into FIRs, allow straightforward restoration of cash misplaced by victims, and facilitate punitive motion towards cyber criminals, the MHA mentioned.
