Trump Promotes US Manufacturing of Tanks Over T-Shirts, CFO Information, ETCFO

MORRISTOWN, New Jersey -U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned on Sunday his tariff coverage was geared toward selling the home manufacturing of tanks and expertise merchandise, not sneakers and T-shirts.
Talking to reporters earlier than boarding Air Pressure One in New Jersey, Trump mentioned he agreed with feedback from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on April 29 that the U.S. doesn’t essentially want a “booming textile business” – feedback that drew criticism from the Nationwide Council of Textile Organizations.
“We’re not trying to make sneakers and T-shirts. We need to make army gear. We need to make massive issues. We need to do the AI factor with computer systems,” Trump mentioned.
“I am not trying to make T-shirts, to be sincere. I am not trying to make socks. We are able to do this very nicely in different areas. We wish to do chips and computer systems and plenty of different issues, and tanks and ships,” Trump mentioned.
Trump, who has upended world markets with the broad imposition of tariffs, revived his harsh commerce rhetoric on Friday when he pushed for a 50% tariff on European Union items beginning June 1 and warned Apple he might impose a 25% levy on all imported iPhones purchased by U.S. customers.
