PM Modi Invited To G7 Summit By Canadian PM Carney

India-Canada Relations: In an indication of thaw in strained India-Canada relations, Canadian PM Mark Carney has prolonged an invite to his Indian counterpart PM Narendra Modi for the G7 summit to be held in Kananaskis later this month. Taking to X, PM Modi stated that he acquired a name from Carney and guaranteed that India and Canada will work with renewed vigour. The summit can be held from June 15 to 17.

Given the complexities within the relationship between India and Canada, there was appreciable buzz about whether or not Prime Minister Modi would even obtain an invite. Many questioned if this could mark the primary G7 summit since 2019 that he would not be current at.
