The Centre is working hand-in-hand with all states on NW 1 to make inland water transport a pillar of India’s sustainable, multimodal future, Sonowal mentioned, sustaining that rivers are actually the lifelines of the nation’s economic system.
“As a part of the Nationwide Waterway 1, stretching 1,390 km from Varanasi to Haldia, Bihar will see the event of two terminals in Patna, together with the institution of a vessel restore and manufacturing centre alongside the Ganga,” he mentioned.
