Amarnath yatra routes declared ‘No Flying Zone’

Jammu and Kashmir authorities on Tuesday, 17 June, declared the Amarnath yatra routes as ‘No Flying Zone’ as a part of beefed up safety measures for the annual pilgrimage.
The Amarnath yatra has two routes – the standard Pahalgam route and the shorter Baltal route.
The declaration issued by Jammu and Kashmir Residence Division on the orders of lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha stated flying of any form of aviation platforms and gadgets, together with UAVs, drones, balloons, is prohibited from 1 July to 10 August.
Nonetheless, the restrictions won’t be relevant within the instances of medical evacuation, catastrophe administration and for surveillance by safety forces. An in depth SOP for such exceptions will likely be issued subsequently.
The order stated in view of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled from July 3, varied safety preparations are being undertaken for clean and peaceable conduct of the yatra.
