Sharad Pawar holds first meet with PM Modi since MVA loss, presents him pomegranates from Maharashtra | India Information – Instances of India

NEW DELHI: NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar referred to as on PM Narendra Modi Wednesday, weeks after the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was trounced within the meeting elections in Maharashtra by the BJP-headed Mahayuti.
Pawar, together with two farmers from Phaltan in western Maharashtra, met the PM in his workplace in Parliament Home and introduced him with a field of pomegranates from their farm.
Pawar had lately written to the PM, inviting him to inaugurate the 98th Marathi Sahitya Sammelan scheduled to be held at Talkatora Stadium within the nationwide capital in Feb.
“I didn’t broach the subject of Sahitya Sammelan,” Pawar mentioned after the assembly.
Within the Maharashtra meeting elections final month, the Congress-NCP(SP)-Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance – MVA – confronted a humiliating defeat by the hands of BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP’s Mahayuti bloc.
The Mahayuti gained 235 seats, whereas the MVA was restricted to 46 within the 288-member meeting.
