Netanyahu warns Houthis as Israel reportedly mulls new airstrike

On Tuesday, Israel’s state-owned Kan TV reported that the army has been making ready for a possible operation. Citing senior safety officers, Kan TV stated the Israeli Air Drive, Army Intelligence, and Operations Directorate have been “creating considerably extra aggressive plans and increasing the goal database” throughout Yemen after the earlier assault final week.

Since October 2023, Houthi forces have launched sporadic missile and drone assaults on Israel, citing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Israel has responded with a number of large-scale airstrikes, the newest of which occurred final week, leading to no less than 9 deaths.

On Wednesday morning, Israeli media reported that sirens sounded after a “missile” from Yemen approached Tel Aviv.

Yemen’s Houthi group later stated they launched two drones on the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Ashkelon on Wednesday, focusing on “important” and “industrial” areas.

“We carried out two army operations, the primary of which focused an important and delicate zone in Tel Aviv metropolis. The second operation focused the economic zone in Ashkelon metropolis,” Houthi army spokesperson Yahya Sarea stated in a press release.
