Postpone UGC-NET check scheduled on Pongal, urges Tamil Nadu CM Stalin
Tamil Nadu chief minister M.Okay. Stalin appealed to union training minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday, 7 January, to reschedule the UGC-NET exams proposed to be held in the course of the Pongal competition season.
Searching for his quick intervention, the chief minister famous in a letter addressed to the central minister that it was introduced that the UGC-NET examinations and different examinations could be held from 13–16 January. Nevertheless, in Tamil Nadu, the harvest competition of Pongal is widely known for 4 days from 13 January yearly.
‘These dates are well-known and the whole Tamil neighborhood celebrates the 4 days’ Pongal competition with fervour. The federal government of Tamil Nadu has already declared 14–17 January as holidays,’ the CM stated within the letter.
He argued that it could trigger hardship to numerous candidates if the proposed exams had been carried out in the course of the Pongal holidays.
