Telangana CM calls modifications in UGC norms an ‘infringement’ on states’ rights

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday slammed the Centre for modifications in College Grants Fee (UGC) norms, alleging that it’s attempting to undermine states’ powers.

The Chief Minister felt that the initiative to unravel society’s issues must be taken from universities. He claimed that his authorities initiated measures to place the schooling system again on rail. It appointed vice-chancellors to strengthen universities and directed vice-chancellors to take steps to fill instructing and non-teaching posts. He opposed the thought of privatisation of universities saying it’s not within the curiosity of individuals. He underlined the necessity to rebuild the schools within the state.
