Volvo Vehicles unveils India’s first Highway Practice for environment friendly logistics

Volvo Vehicles has introduced the introduction of India’s first Highway Practice answer which is aimed toward optimising effectivity within the high-volume logistics business.

Operated by logistics agency Delhivery, the Highway Practice was on Saturday flagged off by Union Minister of Highway Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.

The Highway Practice idea was formally integrated into rules in 2020, permitting for automobile lengths as much as 25.25 meters. A Highway Practice consists of a tractor unit towing two or extra trailers, considerably growing cargo capability.

Volvo Truck’s Highway Practice options Volvo FM 420 4×2 tractor, a 24-ft containerised intermediate trailer, and a 44-ft semi-trailer, delivering a mixed cargo quantity of 144 cubic meters—50% greater than customary semi-trailers. 

Following profitable completion of rigorous testing and trials, the Highway Practice is licensed by MoRTH and ARAI for operation between Delhivery hubs of Nagpur and Bhiwandi.
