LSR fest Tarang’25: Sufi songs, shayari by Delhi-based Nizami Brothers woos DU college students and college on campus

Girl Shri Ram Faculty’s fest witnessed the whole lot soothing from Bollywood’s well-liked Sufi numbers to qawwalis and even sher-o-shayari, courtesy Nizami Brothers  

Friday night turned soulful as Sufi tunes crammed the campus of Girl Shri Ram Faculty for Girls (LSR). Round 4,000 college students, from Delhi College’s numerous schools, gathered and sang alongside because the artiste duo Nizami Brothers took the stage for the finale of LSR’s annual cultural fest, Tarang’25.

“Bade laa-javaab hain aap sab,” exclaimed the performers onstage as they took to sing some timeless hits like Kajra Re (Bunty Aur Babli; 2005), Ye Tune Kya Kiya (As soon as Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara; 2013), and Afreen Afreen, to call just a few. Their musical notes resonated with the viewers. “At most school fests, we’re used to listening to pop songs or Punjabi numbers. It was refreshing to witness a soulful Sufi night for a change,” says Rhiti Grewal, a pupil of Kamala Nehru Faculty (KNC), including, “My associates and I’ll all the time cherish this night as we fully forgot about our common stress of research and exams!”

The singers continued to regale the group with their shayari, in between their gayaki. At one level, they even requested the scholars to remain quiet and requested the college to sing, in jest, the strains Na Chedo Humein, Hum Sataye Hue Hain.

Then got here a second that elicited the loudest cheer as these singers devoted a sher to reward the allure of LSR’s appearing principal, Kanika Okay Ahuja. After the efficiency, Ahuja advised us, “The Nizami Brothers’ efficiency was completely mesmerising! They created a fascinating environment that captivated the scholars and college alike. Their vitality was infectious, and left us all singing, dancing, and fully immersed within the magic of the second.”
