Alert practice driver averts accident in Sealdah division

An alert driver of an EMU practice working on the Deula-Magrahat railway line within the Sealdah division averted an accident on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) after he halted the car on seeing sleepers blocking the monitor. As a part of the July 9 basic strike known as by some commerce unions, the protesters blocked the rail line with sleepers.

Additionally, banana leaves had been thrown on Overhead Gear (OHE) wires between Deula and Magrahat stations, threatening the motion of trains and security of passengers. The railway employees acted promptly and ensured undisturbed practice companies. 

In an announcement, the Sealdah Railway Division warned strict motion in opposition to the culprits who bask in such actions, endangering the lives of passengers.

Rajeev Saxena, Sealdah’s Divisional Railway Supervisor, urged all residents to behave in a accountable method and co-operate with railway employees.
