Dhinakaran on Thursday (February 27, 2025) demanded that the Central authorities drop the proposed bidding for fuel exploration launched by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Pure Gasoline for a block within the Gulf of Mannar alongside the coast of southern Tamil Nadu. He contended that it could have an effect on the fishing financial system and livelihood of fishermen.
The Union Ministry had earlier this month launched the tenth spherical of bidding for oil and fuel exploration and manufacturing underneath the Open Acreage Licensing Coverage (OALP) for 25 blocks throughout the nation.
