Andhra Pradesh Govt. sanctions tariff subsidy of ₹4,471 crore to Discoms for Q1 of 2025-26

The Authorities of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday accorded administrative sanction for a sum of roughly ₹4,471 crore to the Member-Convener of the A.P. Energy Coordination Committee (APPCC) in the direction of advance declare of tariff subsidy payable to the Discoms (distribution firms) for the primary quarter of FY 2025-26.

In a G.O. issued to that impact by Particular Chief Secretary (Vitality) Ok. Vijayanand, the federal government had given a complete price range launch order for practically ₹12,940 crore (for tariff subsidies) for the interval April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, and as per Part 65 of the Electrical energy Act of 2003, the federal government was required to pay the subsidy upfront to the Discoms each quarter.

The Assistant Secretary to Authorities and Drawing & Disbursing Officer of the Vitality Division had been directed to remit the sanctioned quantity (₹4,471 crore) into the financial institution accounts of the Discoms.
