Assam girl held for ‘anti-national’ comment over Pahalgam terror assault
A lady from Assam’s Golaghat district was detained by the Guwahati Crime Department for allegedly making “anti-national” remarks on the phobia assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
Golaghat Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajen Singh advised ANI that the lady, recognized as Dadhichi Dimple alias Dimple Baruah, was detained for her “controversial and anti-national feedback”, including that “she was later handed over to the Golaghat police. The Golaghat police arrested her and introduced her to the Golaghat police station.”

He additionally defended the arrest of AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam, saying that it was justified due to his alleged pro-Pakistan statements.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, Sarma had mentioned that thus far, eight to 9 individuals had been arrested for issuing statements in favour of Pakistan. “That’s the reason he (Aminul Islam) is in jail. I’ll do that once more. I’ll take any motion in opposition to such folks,” he added.
Aminul Islam was remanded to 4 days of police custody by an area court docket in Nagaon on Friday. The MLA was booked below the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita sections 152, 196, 197(1), 113(3), 352, and 353.
