The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protects Aurangzeb’s tomb, about 30 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, as a ‘monument of nationwide significance’ beneath the Historic Monuments and Archaeological Websites and Stays Act of 1958.
