Bangladesh has detained 34 fishermen who entered its waters earlier this week. India has now sought consular entry for the boys who’ve been charged with crossing the maritime border.

Based on a report by Hindustan Occasions, the fishermen and two fishing trawlers named FB Jhor and FB Ma Magal Chandi had been apprehended by Bangladeshi authorities on July 14-15 close to Mongla port.

The fishermen, all residents of West Bengal’s Kakdwip, had been accused of crossing the worldwide maritime boundary and fishing in Bangladesh’s territorial waters. It was not instantly clear the place they had been being detained.
