BJP TN chief Annamalai, celebration leaders detained

Mahila Morcha chief and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, Vinoj P. Selvam and Amar Prasad Reddy had been among the many senior functionaries detained.

Annamalai mentioned there have been “irregularities of Rs 1000 crore” within the Tamil Nadu State Advertising Company (TASMAC), and asserted that his celebration would proceed to protest on the matter.

The ED had earlier mentioned it had discovered “a number of irregularities” within the operations of TASMAC, together with “manipulation” within the tender processes and “unaccounted” money transactions value Rs 1,000 crore via distillery corporations.

The Central company had claimed it bought ‘proof’ suggesting these corrupt practices after it raided the staff, company places of work of distilleries and vegetation of TASMAC on 6 March. There have been ‘kickbacks’ concerned, it had claimed.
