“Break on Via”: How The Doorways started

Sixty years in the past, a brand new band got here collectively in Venice, Calif., and lit the music world on hearth. The Doorways, an improvisational group comprised of poet Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek on keyboards, Robby Krieger on guitar, and John Densmore on drums, are being celebrated with a brand new ebook, “Night time Divides the Day: The Doorways Anthology.” Correspondent Anthony Mason talks with Densmore and Krieger (the final surviving members of the group), and takes a tour of the place it began for The Doorways.
