CBIC To Introduce Digital Processing Of Import, Export By Private Carriage By Air Passengers From 1 Could 2025 –Test Airport Listing | Financial system Information

New Delhi: The Central Board of Oblique Taxes and Customs, Division of Income, Ministry of Finance, has launched digital processing of Invoice of Entry/ Delivery Invoice pertaining to gems and jewelry/samples/prototypes by way of private carriage by air passengers from 01.05.2025 onwards at specified airports.

A Ministry of Finance launch stated that the export/import by way of private carriage shall be topic to the provisions of Overseas Commerce Coverage (FTP) 2023 and Handbook of Procedures (HBP), 2023.

The ability of private carriage shall be obtainable, for export of gems and jewelry in THESE 9 Airports

The ability of private carriage shall be obtainable, for export of gems and jewelry within the 9 airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Jaipur) laid out in para 4.87 of HBP and for import of gems and jewelry within the seven airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Jaipur) laid out in para 4.88 of HBP. In case of samples/prototypes of equipment, the ability is initially being made obtainable in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai airports.

The harmonised process and digital processing will promote ease of doing enterprise for such mode of transaction particularly for gems and jewelry and high-end manufacturing, stated Ministry of Finance.
