Centre Clears Rs 62,000-Crore Deal To Purchase Made-In-India Assault Helicopter

The Cupboard Committee on Safety on Friday gave its nod for the largest ever deal to purchase 156 Mild Fight Helicopters (LCH) value over Rs 62,000 crore for the Indian Military and Air Power from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).

This may be the largest order for HAL thus far, and the choppers can be constructed at their crops in Bengaluru and Tumkur in Karnataka.

The 156 choppers can be divided between the Indian Military (90) and the Indian Air Power (IAF) for operations alongside the China and Pakistan borders and can be a serious step in direction of creating jobs and increasing the aerospace ecosystem inside the nation, defence sources advised ANI.

HAL acquired the tender for 156 LCH in June final 12 months. The IAF is the lead company for this joint procurement, they stated.
