Cornwall councillor defects to Reform from Conservatives

Reform UK chief Nigel Farage has stated he’s happy to welcome a defecting Conservative councillor to his social gathering.
Kevin Towill has modified his allegiance at Cornwall Council forward of native elections on 1 Might.
Mr Farage, who was attending a celebration rally on the Carn Brea Leisure Centre, stated he hoped the election would end in extra Reform councillors sitting alongside the Newquay Porth and Tretherras ward member.
Council chief Linda Taylor, who belongs to the Conservatives, stated she was saddened by Mr Towill’s departure. The BBC has approached Mr Towill for remark.
The defection makes Mr Towill the only consultant for Reform UK within the council chamber.
Whereas Mr Towill has not issued an announcement confirming his swap, his profile web page on the council’s web site has been up to date to indicate him as a Reform UK member.
Mr Farage stated: “I hope he’s going to be joined by many extra after the election.”
Ms Taylor confirmed Mr Towill emailed her on Monday to say he would stand as a Reform UK candidate on Might 1 and had switched events.
She stated it was an enormous disappointment however that Mr Towill would stay an excellent buddy.
Ms Taylor stated: “It is extremely unhappy that Kevin has made this choice as he is been an actual stalwart for us.
