Dallas Mavericks assistant coach arrested in assault investigation
The assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks was arrested by Dallas police Sunday morning.
Darrell Armstrong, 56, was arrested as a suspect on an aggravated assault cost. He isn’t in jail, based on DPD.
Dallas Police responded to a name within the 1000 block of Ross Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. Preliminary investigation decided that Armstrong and the sufferer have been in an argument when he hit the sufferer with a gun and threatened to shoot, based on the police report.
Police stated Armstrong and the sufferer knew one another. It wasn’t clear whether or not Armstrong has an lawyer who may touch upon his behalf.
Dallas Fireplace Rescue responded and handled the sufferer on the scene, based on the police division.
The Dallas Mavericks stated they’re conscious of an incident involving a member of its employees and positioned that individual on administrative suspension pending the result of the authorized proceedings.
There’s an ongoing investigation into the incident, Dallas police stated.
Armstrong spent two seasons with the Mavericks late in his 14-year enjoying profession and was a backup level guard on the 2005-06 workforce that reached the NBA Finals, dropping to Miami. He joined the Dallas teaching employees in 2008-09.
