NEW DELHI: Following the Nationwide Training Coverage, Delhi College plans to launch a one-year postgraduate programme in 2026. The draft proposal for this initiative is ready to be reviewed on the Tutorial Council assembly on December 27, as outlined within the assembly agenda.
A number of modifications have been included into the plan, however some lecturers have criticised the transfer, alleging it’s being rushed for dialogue. DU has already carried out a four-year undergraduate programme, with the third semester at present underway.
Underneath this framework, college students exiting after the primary 12 months obtain a certificates, these leaving after the second 12 months are awarded a diploma, and people finishing three years acquire a level. College students who full the fourth 12 months earn a level with honours.
After three years, college students can go for a two-year PG course, whereas these finishing 4 years can enrol within the one-year PG programme. DU is now making ready to implement this technique, with separate curricula being developed for one-year and two-year PG programmes.
Underneath the one-year PG programme, college students will earn 22 credit per semester, totalling 44 credit for the diploma. For the two-year course, college students will earn 88 credit. Based on UGC requirements, the extent for the two-year diploma can be 6.5, whereas the one-year diploma can be at degree 7.
