‘Delimitation train a deliberate assault on non-BJP dominated states’

The proposed delimitation train by the Narendra Modi authorities is not only about anybody state however the way forward for democracy in India, Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stated in Chennai on Saturday, 22 March.

“It’s not only a numbers sport however a deliberate assault on the non-BJP dominated states to cut back their illustration in Parliament,” he stated addressing the primary Joint Motion Committee (JAC) assembly on Truthful Delimitation convened by chief minister M.Ok. Stalin. Extra seats for states with increased delivery charges meant that voices from the South would get weak in Parliament, he added.

The assembly was attended by chief ministers of Telangana, Punjab and Kerala (A. Revanth Reddy, Bhagwant Mann and Pinarayi Vijayan, respectively), Karnataka deputy CM D.Ok. Shivakumar, and senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief Ok.T. Rama Rao, amongst others.

Congress chief D.Ok. Shivakumar stated, “This struggle is not only about numbers… the delimitation train is not only about parliamentary seats; it’s about the way forward for federalism in India. If the Centre proceeds with this unjust system, it can alter the federal steadiness, giving disproportionate energy to states which have failed to regulate inhabitants development,”
