US-led consortium’s profitable bid stood at £295 million
LONDON: A consortium of US-based Indian techies have gained the bid to personal 49% of The Hundred‘s Lord’s franchise London Spirit.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora, Occasions Web Restricted vice chairman Satyan Gajwani, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Silverlake Know-how CEO Egon Durban, Sequoia’s Jim Goetz and two others are a part of the consortium that participated in an e-auction course of on Friday to seize the franchise.

On Thursday, Reliance-led Mumbai Indians had gained the bid to personal The Hundred’s different London franchise Oval Invincibles.
Sources say the US-led consortium’s profitable bid stood at £295 million.
Arora, Pichai and Narayen are identified to be huge cricket followers whereas Nadella co-owns Main League Cricket’s (MLC) franchise Seattle Orcas, and Gajwani owns and runs Willow TV, cricket’s largest streaming platform within the west, in addition to Cricbuzz web site.
£295 million is the 100% bid worth of which the consortium can pay 49%. The remaining 51% will stay with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as a part of The Hundred’s enterprise mannequin.
In a separate bidding course of, MLC franchise Washington Freedom gained the Cardiff franchise for £65 million.
