THANE: A petty dispute between two banana leaf distributors turned deadly after one in every of them, in a match of rage, stabbed the opposite with a pair of scissors on Saturday on the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) premises, the police stated. When the sufferer’s son and spouse tried to intervene, the accused allegedly verbally abused and manhandled them as effectively, resulting in critical accidents.

The Bazarpeth police have registered a case of homicide and assault in opposition to the accused, Chiraj Rajkumar Soni, 21. The deceased was recognized as Chamanlala Nandlal Karla, 55. Karla and Soni bought banana leaves within the flower market part of the Kalyan APMC.
Based on the police, Soni and Karla had collectively ordered 5 banana leaf bundles from Jalgaon–four for Karla and one for Soni. As soon as the cargo arrived, Karla allegedly took all 5 bundles and commenced promoting them with out giving Soni his share. When Soni demanded his bundle, a battle broke out between them, police stated. In a match of rage, Soni allegedly stabbed Karla within the stomach with a pointy pair of scissors, fatally wounding him.
When Karla’s spouse, Neetu, and 22-year-old son Kartik tried to intervene, Soni attacked Kartik and verbally abused Neetu, stated a police officer. The household then filed a grievance on the Bazarpeth police station.
“A petty dispute over banana leaf bundles escalated into violence, ensuing within the demise of a vendor,” stated deputy commissioner of police Atul Zende. “The accused has been arrested. Additional investigation is underway.”
