ED points second summons to Robert Vadra in Haryana land deal probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday issued a second summons to Robert Vadra, businessman and brother-in-law of Chief of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, in a money-laundering case associated to the Shikhopur land deal in Haryana, information company PTI reported, citing sources.

Vadra didn’t reply to the primary summons, which was despatched to him on eighth April. He has now been requested to look for questioning because the ED investigates alleged monetary irregularities involving his firm, Skylight Hospitality.

As soon as he seems earlier than the ED, the company will report his assertion underneath the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act (PMLA) relating to the alleged rip-off associated to cash laundering from the land buy, the sources instructed PTI.

Based on the ED, Vadra’s firm purchased a 3.5-acre plot in Shikhopur, Gurgaon, from Omkareshwar Properties for Rs 7.5 crore in February 2008.

Vadra’s firm later offered the land to actual property big DLF for Rs 58 crore. The central investigating company is alleging that the cash was a part of a laundering scheme.
