Group Of Individuals Drive Entry Into Madhya Pradesh Temple, Beat Priest For Not Opening Gates

A gaggle of about 30 folks allegedly thrashed a priest of a well-known temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas for refusing to allow them to in after closing hours, police stated on Saturday. 

The incident passed off post-midnight on the Mata Tekri temple, with the priest alleging that an individual named Jitu Raghuvanshi, who the police stated has a previous legal document, arrived on the temple late Friday night time with about 30 folks in a fleet of eight to 10 automobiles.

Movies going viral on social media confirmed a few automobiles with purple beacons within the fleet that arrived on the foot of the hilltop temple. They have been later seen providing prayers contained in the temple.

“We shut the temple gates by midnight. The group led by Jitu Raghuvanshi got here round 12:40 am after I had already shut the gates. After I advised them that the temple was closed, they compelled me to open the gates and threatened to kill me. In addition they beat me,” the priest advised NDTV.

Metropolis Superintendent of Police Dinesh Agrawal advised reporters {that a} case has been registered, and the footage from about  50 cameras within the temple premises is being examined.

Requested if a son of a BJP chief led the group, Mr Agrawal stated the case was underneath investigation.
