Group of individuals drive entry into temple in Madhya Pradesh, thrash priest

A gaggle of individuals forcibly entered the well-known Mata Tekri temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas metropolis after it had closed for the night time and allegedly beat up its priest as he refused to allow them to in, police mentioned.

Whereas the Opposition Congress claimed the son of a BJP MLA was a part of the group, police didn’t verify the allegation.

As per the grievance lodged by the priest on the Kotwali police station in Dewas, Jitu Raghuvanshi, who has a previous prison report, arrived on the temple late Friday (April 11, 2025) night time with others in a fleet of eight to 10 vehicles.

The group members allegedly requested the priest to open the gates, and when he refused, he was allegedly abused and overwhelmed up, Metropolis Superintendent of Police Dinesh Agrawal instructed reporters on Saturday (April 12, 2025).

An FIR was registered towards them and the footage of some 50 CCTV cameras was being examined, he mentioned.

Requested if the son of a BJP chief led the group, Agrawal instructed reporters that the case was underneath investigation.

Some movies on social media confirmed a few vehicles with pink beacons within the fleet which arrived on the foot of the hilltop temple.

Dewas metropolis Congress president Manoj Rajani mentioned a sure BJP MLA ought to keep watch over his son “who did such an act regardless of being a Sanatani”.
