The Pakistani agent first contacted Gohil, who was a contractual well being employee at a authorities centre in Mata No Madh village in Lakhpat, on his WhatsApp quantity in June 2023 and befriended him.

In January 2025, Gohil used his Aadhaar (distinctive identification quantity) to obtain a SIM card and shared the OTP with the Pakistani agent, enabling her to make use of WhatsApp linked to that quantity from the neighbouring nation.

Following an investigation, the ATS arrested Gohil and registered an FIR towards him and the Pakistani agent underneath Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 61 (felony conspiracy) and 148 (waging warfare towards the federal government), added the officer.
