India, Russia now discover alternatives in uncommon earth, vital minerals

NEW DELHI: India and Russia are actively exploring alternatives in uncommon earth and important minerals, in addition to coal gasification and cooperation in aluminium and fertiliser sourcing, regardless of the US imposing punitive tariffs on Indian items for doing enterprise with Moscow.
Indi and Russian officers on Wednesday held the eleventh session of the working group on modernisation and industrial cooperation within the Indian capital below the framework of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Fee on Commerce, Financial, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation, the commerce and business ministry stated in an announcement.
The assembly reviewed the progress made for the reason that tenth session and supplied a platform to strengthen cooperation throughout key sectors, the assertion stated.
“Discussions included updates from the sub-groups on modernisation, mining, fertilisers, and railway transport, in addition to rising areas of collaboration,” it added.
Key focus areas included cooperation in aerospace science and expertise, together with the institution of a modernised wind tunnel facility, manufacturing of small plane piston engines, and joint growth in carbon fibre expertise, additive manufacturing, and 3D printing, it stated.
“Each side additionally explored alternatives in uncommon earth and important minerals extraction, underground coal gasification, and creation of contemporary industrial infrastructure,” it added. The session was co-chaired by division for promotion of business and inside commerce (DPIIT) secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia and Russian deputy minister of business and commerce Alexey Gruzdev.
The 2 sides welcomed enhanced engagement in aluminium, fertilisers, and railway transport, alongside capability constructing and expertise switch in mining sector gear, exploration, and industrial and home waste administration, the ministry stated.
The assembly concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the eleventh session by each co-chairs, reaffirming the strategic India-Russia partnership and shared dedication to deepen industrial and financial cooperation. The session noticed participation from round 80 delegates representing each side, together with senior authorities officers, area consultants, and representatives from business.
