Israeli military says intercepted missile fired from Yemen

The Israel Protection Forces (IDF) stated in a press release that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen towards Israel.

Israel’s nationwide emergency service, Magen David Adom, on Friday, 18 July stated it didn’t obtain stories of hits or casualties.

The IDF detected the launch and issued a smartphone utility alert. After about 5 minutes, sirens have been activated in areas together with the Tel Aviv metropolitan space and West Jerusalem, Xinhua information company reported.

Following the launch, Ben Gurion Airport exterior Tel Aviv was briefly closed to takeoffs and landings.

The earlier launch of a missile from Yemen towards Israel was on Wednesday night, with sirens activated within the Lifeless Sea area in southeastern Israel. The missile was additionally intercepted by the IDF.

Yemen’s Houthi group later claimed duty for the missile assault on Wednesday.
