‘Jaat’ Makers Take away Controversial Scene Amid Backlash Over Spiritual Depiction | Motion pictures Information

Mumbai: The makers of Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Jaat’ have issued an official assertion addressing the current controversy surrounding a scene within the movie that sparked objections from members of the Christian group. In response to issues over spiritual sensitivity, the makers clarified that the scene in query has been eliminated, reaffirming their respect for all faiths and communities.

In a press release launched on Friday, the crew behind the Sunny Deol-starrer acknowledged the issues raised by members of the Christian group relating to a selected scene that was perceived to be hurtful to spiritual sentiments. Responding promptly to the criticism, the makers clarified that their intention was by no means to disrespect any religion or perception system.

The assertion comes shortly after a case was registered towards actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, and director Gopichand Malineni for allegedly hurting spiritual sentiments with a scene involving Lord Jesus Christ of their newest movie, ‘Jaat.’

The case was filed on the Sadar Police Station in Jalandhar below Part 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly offending spiritual sentiments. The grievance was lodged by Vikalp Gold, a resident of Pholriwal village in Jalandhar.

The police grievance alleged that the accused offended the spiritual sentiments of the Christian group by replicating a crucifixion scene involving Lord Jesus Christ within the movie. Earlier, in an official assertion, ADCP Headquarters officer Sukhwinder Singh confirmed that the grievance was lodged by Golgotha Gold, a resident of Pholriwal village in Jalandhar and a member of the Christian group. The complainant raised objections to particular scenes within the movie, claiming they have been offensive to the spiritual beliefs of the group.
