Visakhapatnam District Commerce Unions and Civil Society JAC have strongly condemned the remarks of TDP Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao in opposition to the everlasting and contract workers of Visakhapatnam Metal Plant (VSP).

Terming the remarks as humiliating and irresponsible, JAC chairman M. Jaggunaidu and others at a press convention on Tuesday stated Mr. Srinivasa Rao had claimed that almost 450 ‘ghost workers’ have been drawing lakhs of rupees as salaries with out attending work.

“Mr. Srinivasa Rao has been the chief of the recognised workers’ union of the VSP for the previous three years. He’s now an MLA and the celebration he represents is in energy within the State and an alliance accomplice on the Centre. He ought to launch the names of the alleged ghost workers,” the JAC leaders demanded.

Reacting to Mr Srinivasa Rao’s feedback that the VSP could be pressured to shut down in 4 to 5 years if the ₹11,440 crore package deal given by the Centre is spent on the salaries of the staff, Mr. Jaggunaidu questioned how the employees would work with out salaries.

“The Centre has taken again ₹500 crore of the ₹11,440 crore package deal within the identify of GST.
