The son of John Prescott is working the London Marathon to boost cash for dementia analysis in reminiscence of his father.

The previous deputy prime minister died on the age of 86 in November 2024 after residing with Alzheimer’s illness for various years.

David Prescott stated in addition to fundraising, he was collaborating within the race to boost consciousness of the situation.

Mr Prescott stated the floods of tributes paid to his father had made him really feel like he was “being hit by a Tsunami”.

“To see the type of response from folks on social media, coming as much as us at work, after I’m out and about and simply listening to the tributes from everybody actually whose lives have been touched by him was simply overwhelming,” he stated.

“It was simply beautiful to see that type of response from the folks of Hull.”
