Kerala but to obtain Rs 1,100-plus crore for schooling from Centre: Sivankutty

Kerala normal schooling minister V. Sivankutty on 18 March, Tuesday, claimed that Rs 1186.84 crore is the central share, together with arrears, that the state is but to obtain for the event of public schooling and urged the Union authorities to instantly allocate the quantity.
In a press release issued by his workplace, Sivankutty additionally demanded that the central authorities desist from its strikes to allegedly weaken the Kerala mannequin, which is dedicated to inclusive and high quality schooling for all.
The minister stated that arrears of the central share for 2023-24 and 2024-25 have been Rs 280.58 crore and Rs 513.54 crore, respectively, and the quantity accredited for 2025-26 was Rs 654.54 crore, in line with the assertion.
He claimed that Kerala’s share was being withheld because it didn’t signal the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the PM SHRI scheme.
