Legal act: Akhilesh Yadav condemns Karni Sena assault on MP’s convoy

Samajwadi Get together Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman’s convoy was attacked in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, by members of the Karni Sena on Sunday, 27 April. The assailants hurled tyres and stones on the automobiles close to the Gabhana toll plaza, inflicting a number of vehicles within the high-speed convoy to collide and maintain harm.
Superintendent of police (metropolis) Aligarh Mrigank Shekhar Pathak stated no accidents had been reported, and MP Suman was safely escorted from the realm.
In response, the Aligarh police registered a case and suspended two officers — a sub-inspector and a constable — for dereliction of obligation. A departmental inquiry has been initiated towards the in-charge of the native Gabhana police station.
Following the incident, Samajwadi Get together president Akhilesh Yadav condemned the assault, labelling it a “legal act” and questioning the Uttar Pradesh authorities’s silence. He raised considerations about potential intelligence failures or deliberate negligence, emphasising the necessity for accountability.
