Let Manmohan Singh’s final rites be at a spot match for a memorial: Kharge to Modi

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday, 27 December, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to conduct the final rites of former PM Manmohan Singh at a spot the place a memorial may be constructed.
He wrote the letter after talking to Modi about establishing a memorial for Singh, who was a two-term prime minister revered by the folks of the nation, he stated.
‘Apropos our telephonic dialog this morning, whereby I made a request to carry Dr Manmohan Singh’s final rites — which is able to happen tomorrow, i.e., twenty eighth December 2024 — at his remaining resting place that might be a sacrosanct venue for a memorial to the good son of India…
‘That is in step with such custom of getting memorials of statesmen and former prime ministers on the very place of their funerals,’ Kharge stated in his two-page letter.
