To satisfy elevated demand for air journey, the Directorate Normal of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has permitted 81 extra flights in January, growing the air connectivity to Prayagraj to 132 flights from throughout the nation.
In a publish on X on Saturday, the regulator stated that in view of the probably surge in demand, airways have been urged to extend additional capability by including flights and rationalise fares.
DGCA officers held a gathering with airline representatives on January 23 on this regard.
Bookings in addition to airfares for flights to Prayagraj have jumped multi-fold as extra folks journey for the Maha Kumbh, with the air ticket costs rising as much as 21 per cent for the Delhi-Prayagraj flights, an evaluation by journey portal Ixigo confirmed earlier this month.
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13, will conclude on February 26.
