Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who has crooned a number of songs that includes Shah Rukh Khan like Predominant Koi Aisa Geet Gaaon, Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha, Dhum Taana, Tauba Tumhare Yeh Ishaare and Suno Na Suno Na amongst others, has stirred controversy by calling Mahatma Gandhi ‘Father of Pakistan’.
“Pancham Da was larger than Mahatma Gandhi. Like Mahatma Gandhi was the daddy of the nation, Pancham Da was the daddy of the nation on the planet of music,” mentioned Bhattacharya throughout an interplay with journalist Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast.
“Pancham Da (RD Burman) was larger than Mahatma Gandhi, he was the Rashtrapita of music. Mahatma Gandhi was the Father of the Nation for Pakistan, not for India. India was at all times there. Pakistan was created. By mistake, Mahatma Gandhi was referred to as the Father of Our Nation,” he added.
