MDU Rohtak launches nation’s first ‘Drug-Free Dwelling’ marketing campaign on Nationwide Panchayati Raj Day

ROHTAK: In a novel initiative on Nationwide Panchayati Raj Day, Maharshi Dayanand College (MDU), Rohtak launched the nation’s first “Drug-Free Dwelling” marketing campaign from village Madodi Rangdan of the district on Thursday. This distinctive marketing campaign was conceptualized by MDU vice-chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, and formally flagged off with the internet hosting of the nation’s first Gram Sabha devoted to this trigger.
Inaugurating the marketing campaign, Prof. Rajbir Singh described it as a worldwide necessity, stressing {that a} drug-free house is not only a social effort however a vital step for the protection of households and society. He said that medication severely hurt a person’s psychological and bodily well being and corrode the foundations of households and communities.
The vice-chancellor introduced that college students from MDU-affiliated faculties will be a part of the marketing campaign as “Gram Saarthis” (village ambassadors), who will act as vigilant volunteers and unfold the message all through society. He asserted that this marketing campaign will show to be a milestone within the nation’s drug eradication efforts.
Sharanjit Kaur, chairperson, Rehabilitation Council of India, graced the event because the visitor of honour. She praised the initiative as a singular step in the direction of constructing a drug-free India. Kaur urged villagers to maintain houses drug-free, shield kids from habit, help these affected, and hyperlink them to counseling and rehabilitation centres.
The sarpanch of village Marodhi, Mausam, expressed gratitude to MDU for selecting their village for this historic initiative and pledged full help to make extra houses drug-free.
The occasion was moderated by Prof. (In Apply) Sunil Jaglan, famous social employee and MDU outreach consultant. He impressed villagers by citing examples like Bibipur village and known as for collective participation.
