Rambhapuri Mutt seer Veera Someshwara Shivacharya Swamy unveiled a mechanical elephant on the mutt premises on Sunday (December 15, 2024).
The mechanical elephant, named Veerabhadra, intends to switch stay elephants in temple ceremonies.
The three-metre-tall mechanical elephant weighs round 800 kilograms. It has been gifted by actor Shilpa Shetty, Individuals for Moral Remedy of Animals (PETA) India, and Compassion Limitless Plus Motion (CUPA).
The PETA and CUPA have been actively working in direction of utilizing mechanical elephants for temple ceremonies in order that stay elephants are allowed to remain within the forest setting.
